Yifan X. Miller
I am a researcher and social scientist specializing in technology management, innovation, and organizational design. My work helps organizations turn emerging technologies into sustainable capabilities by bridging the gap between the potential of technology and their practical implications.
With a Ph.D. in Organizational Communication and Technology from The University of Texas at Austin, my scholarly work focuses on how people, teams, and institutions shape the outcomes of AI, robotics, and other complex technologies. My research spans technology design, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and community-centered innovation.

Public decisions about infrastructure and resource allocation are increasingly driven by data. However, communities that lack the resources or tools to generate and communicate data about their experiences can become invisible in decision-making processes.
This work uses embedded field research to transform community data into a flood map that communicated local experiences and needs to external stakeholders
